About Hayley
Hayley Minter is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in Dramatic Art and Communication Studies with a minor in Writing for the Screen and Stage. She is now based in Los Angeles, where she works in film as a special effects makeup artist. She also acts, builds props and makes costumes.
She works in foam latex, silicone, airbrush, and many kinds of face and body paint. On set she is most often called for fake blood and bleeding wound prosthetics, effects that shock an audience and make a performance feel real. Her aim is a blend of drama and realism that pushes what student and independent film can put on screen.
How it began
At fourteen, Hayley began volunteering at The Haunted Forest at Panic Point, a haunted farm in Youngsville, North Carolina. For the next four years she acted in scenes across the property, treating thousands of patrons to her own terrifying makeup looks and some exhilarating scares.
That job was her gateway into special effects makeup. She was already a visual artist and an actor, and the haunt joined the two. With quality products and guidance from professionals in the field, she developed her own style of horror makeup. You can see those looks under Haunted attractions.
